Welcome to yet another Tuesday! This is the second issue of Women in Tech Weekly and I can’t wait to share this week’s news and resources with you 🙂
Dasani has opened a chapter of Girls Who Code on her college campus!
In her own words:
“After 3 years of trying to get past school bureaucracy and red tape, I finally managed to open a chapter of girls who code in my school campus. We are almost finished teaching and making cool projects with our first cohort of amazing high school girls and will be holding a graduation ceremony soon!”

Yesterday one of my biggest dreams finally came true! I’ve been attempting to establish a chapter of @girlswhocode since my sophomore year at @cwru and after 2.5 years I finally got to see it happen. I don’t think I’ve ever had the skills of a ‘natural’ leader, but I am persistent. And the amazing thing about being persistent is that it is really simple. To be persistent all you have to do is keep trying. Anyone can do it. You don’t have to be good at calculus, or have a gregarious personality, you just have to keep getting back on your feet. Persistence is very powerful. It taught me everything I needed to be successful. It taught me to be a better communicator, be assertive when needed, and to reach out to for help. Persistence helped me see beyond failure and success – I only saw lessons to grow from. I have so much to share about what I’ve learnt that I don’t have the space here but I will write an article about it in the near future. But for now I’m so excited for the program to finally launch! To @raul.hdz.gzz, @mkayak21, all the other volunteers, and students who braved the cold to show up to sessions – thank you for making my dreams come true and joining me in this journey! #girlswhocode #womenintech #computerscience #programming #womenwhocode #womensupportingwomen #studentleaders #engineering #technology #womeninspiringwomen #persistence #dasanidecoded #womenwhocode #programmer #thedevlife #coder #codinglife
It was Hollie’s Birthday on Sunday, April 14th! 🥂
Happy Birthday, you badass girl! I know that you have another awesome year ahead of you, enjoy every moment of it! 🙂
Alex is celebrating the growth of her Podcast, Intimate Business!
In her own words:
“This week the podcast has grown the most, it started as a personal outlet and now it has been growing into a channel on its own. I’m enjoying sharing on my experiences and will start having guests soon.”

Boss attitude…!!😎 This is how I feel this week 😁 #LikeaBoss making things happen right and left.. One of the most productive days ever so far, Signing new awesome clients into the consulting business, building new business opportunities, declaring anual taxes, taking my online 3rd language class, working out and listening to my new audio book Becoming @michelleobama 🙌 I truly feel in such peace and high at the same time hehe I don’t feel “at the top” there is still so much to be done but I feel in such peace and content doing what I love and having tiny successful moments (among several failing ones) along the way ☺️ I blame it to @jensincero advices.. Keep doing what you do best and search for inspiration and encouragement wherever you can find them! You should be enjoying the ride no matter how hard ride you got yourself into actually is .. 😅 . Hope you have an awesome week (and I hope I manage to keep this peace and energy throughout the week) ✌️🤗 . Let me know where do you find inspiration and encouragement: which books, blogs, family, friends, coaches,podcasts,..? . . . #theyogicoder #grateful #thankful #motivated #excited #bosslady #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #MondayMotivation #motivationalquotes #coderslife #womenintech #womenentrepreneurs
1. Data Science
Natasha (a.k.a. Blonde_AI) has shared an awesome playlist with Videos from Women in Data Science Conference.
“The YouTube channel has recordings of the talks from the Women in Data Science conference. Not only is it very informative, but also it celebrates and shows the achievements of women in machine learning and data science!” – if you’re interested in Data Science, it’s definitely worth watching!
If you’re looking for career advice, look no further, these ladies have created some awesome content:
Mayuko has started an incredible series of videos for anyone who is interested in a career in Software Engineering! So far there are 6 videos where she guides you through the human aspects of this process and creates expectations for your first day at work.
And 2 amazing articles by Dasani Madipalli:
“I go through a detailed account of how I approached finding an internship and landing one at Google when I had no connections or previous experience in the first place. It was a resource I wish I had when I was trying to find internships because I felt like everyone around me had industry connections or prior experience coding.”
“A lot of people, including myself, find it really difficult to talk about themselves and include their accomplishments in resumes. I go through a step by step process of how you can both make a great resume as well as get more comfortable owning your accomplishments.”
Hollie has shared the WISE’s Annual Conference
“We are organising a conference in London for women in STEM. The theme is Our Skills, Our Future and it’s all about how we can future-proof our careers by learning the skills which will be required in the future.”
I’m so glad that I’ve started this project! It shows how much is going on in this community and how awesome women in tech are ❤️I’m proud of every single one of you, ladies!
Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below and if you’d like to share something for next week’s issue, email me at email@example.com! I’m prototyping the system right now, but I’ll come up with a permanent submission tool soon 🙂
